We want to encourage as many people as possible to get to know West Virginia better and find their hives here. And for those who are thinking about making the move from a city or a suburb to more rural experience of life—we strongly encourage you to seek out all the information you can about everything from infrastructure to health care; from fire suppression to waste management; and from zoning (or the lack thereof) to deed restrictions to HOA’s and the laws that govern them. We are committed to being a source of information for our neighbors, clients and friends to learn and share information to help make all of our lives better.
So, we have a lot to say on the subject of HOA’s in West Virginia. And I hear TONS of people say, I will never live in an HOA and I don’t want to see homes in an HOA. While I understand this reaction to the thought of power-hungry HOA residents trying to exert control over their neighbors’ lives and properties—I also know that a well-run HOA with a Board that follows the law and the HOA’s own governing documents—is a wonderful thing. An HOA should only exist to protect the health, safety and welfare of the community. Knowing the rules and being ready to participate in how your community is run is KEY to a blissful life inside an HOA.
Ignorance might be bliss too.
Clients, friends and neighbors can count on Honey House to stay in the know and share what we know regarding a topic, a happening or a point of view. We always try to go to the source when it comes to sharing info. And we make best efforts to always look at all sides of an issue or a debate. Many people want to live in West Virginia to escape the good opinions of others. Being in the know with accurate, modern data and understanding the risks give all of us the chance to reap the big rewards in this wild and wonderful place.
