After selling the business, spent over 15 years as the property manager of church located in Darnestown, MD, playing vital role overseeing all aspects related to the buildings and their maintenance. Now retired.

Randy Wishmyer

Term Ends: 2024 Randy Wishmyer has education, military service, and years of general contractor experience that he is ready to apply to his work on the WHOA Board. He is also a coach and personal trainer working with athletes from kids to adults. He has been serving on the Architectural Control Committee and helps The Woods Garden Club.

Lucile Sasser

Term ends: 2026 Lucille Sasser has served on several WHOA committees, including Community Affairs, Communications, Governance and Architectural Control Committee (ACC). For the last year, she has served as the Chair of ACC.  She intends to use her experience in Federal service to inform her work on the Board.

Nancy Pearson

Term Ends: 2025  Nancy Pearson retired from Hewlett-Packard Company with twenty-two years in contracts and as a Project Manager. Known for process improvements and implementing creative ways to meet both the customers’ and the company’s business needs.

Ken Valcourt

Term Ends: 2025 Ken Valcourt became involved in WHOA when he started the volunteer recycling program, helping WHOA members with transporting their recycling material once a month. He is also very interested in invigorating the Firewise Program at The Woods.

Vanessa Griffin

District 3

Vanessa Griffin moved to The Woods in March of 2014 as a part-time owner.   In 2019 after retiring from an executive government position in projects and program management she moved here full time. Serves on the Planning Committee, Architectural Control Committee, and recently appointed as the Chair of the Nominating Committee.

Thomas Hackshaw

District 2

Term ends 2026: Thomas Hackshaw has been a homeowner at The Woods since 1981. He has been a registered professional engineer for the state of Maryland since 2002. He also consults as a part time employee for a company that supports the property management industry in Washington, DC. We do reserve studies in support of maintaining property reserves, inspect properties and provide reports. He has served on several Boards during his career.

Gregory Tanner

District 3

Term ends 2027: Greg Tanner has been a full-time homeowner at The Woods since 2018. He served in the United States Coast Guard for 21 years. He works seasonally at The Woods Pro Shop and as a player assistant. He also is a lead coach for First Tee West Virginia, an organization that helps young people build confidence, develop respect and appreciate the value of giving back to the community while learning the sport of golf.

Jeff Harding

District 1

Term ends 2027: Jeff Harding has been a Woods resident for three years. He currently is a practicing litigation attorney and a professor at Shenandoah University. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He has an extensive experience with Homeowners Associations and has been on various boards since 1986.

 

The WHOA Board elects officers for one-year terms — president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. Directors serve three year terms beginning on the date in June set for the Annual Homeowners Meeting. On the same date, the WHOA Board also appoints committee chairs for indefinite terms.
